The Ministry of Internal Affairs Requested Detention for Party Press Officers Miranda Bagaturia and Ana Qurashvili
Miranda Bagaturia (from “Akhali”) and Ana Qurashvili (from “Girchi – More Freedom”) were accused under Article 173, Part 2 of the Administrative Offenses Code, allegedly for insulting police officer Mirian Kavtaradze.
Their administrative hearing took place today at Tbilisi City Court.
Update: Judge Davit Tetraul ultimately fined both Bagaturia and Qurashvili 4,000 GEL each.

Courtroom Overrun by Police Ahead of Verdict in Miranda and Ana’s Case
The courtroom where the judge was set to announce the decision in the case of Miranda Bagaturia and Ana Qurashvili was packed with police officers. Bailiffs began forcefully removing attendees and reportedly hit several people. There is concern that authorities are attempting to detain Miranda and Ana.

On International Workers’ Day, a demonstration was organized by ten trade unions and the “Movement for Social Democracy.” Citizens gathered in the evening at Orbeliani Square, where representatives of various labor groups gave speeches. The protesters then marched from Orbeliani Square to the Government Administration, and finally joined the ongoing protest on Rustaveli Avenue — which has now continued for 155 consecutive days.

მშრომელთა საერთაშორისო დღეს 10 პროფკავშირისა და „მოძრაობა სოციალური დემოკრატიისთვის” ორგანიზებით, აქცია გაიმართა. მოქალაქეები საღამოს ორბელიანის მოედანზე შეიკრიბნენ, სადაც მშრომელთა სხვადასხვა ჯგუფის წარმომადგენლები გამოვიდნენ სიტყვით. შემდეგ აქციის მონაწილეებმა ორბელიანის მოედნიდან მსვლელობით მთავრობის ადმინისტრაციასთან გადაინაცვლეს, ბოლოს კი საპროტესტო მარში რუსთაველის გამზირზე მიმდინარე აქციას შეუერთდა, სადაც მოქალაქეები უწყვეტად უკვე 155-ე დღეა იკრიბებიან.
