You might remember Eto — the one standing in front of the police cars on Rustaveli Avenue. Turns out, she has an allergy to plane tree pollen. One officer joked, “Leave me the flag and go.” They even brought her water; I brought her medicine. She got better soon. And she stayed — until the very end.

You may not agree with Eto and the people standing behind her. But even the police can’t help but admire their fierce determination. I pity those who can’t see the vitality of a generation in all this. Those kinds of people are closed off to every form of beauty, to light, to hope. The only thing they know how to do is judge.

But some judge — and others shine, despite everything.
Even through allergies.

Irakli Dgebuadze was forced to admit that the police officer insulting Mzia Amaghlobeli was, in fact, himself.
“I’ll get you with blood… I swear on my mother,” he is heard shouting in a video recorded on January 12, at the moment of Mzia Amaghlobeli’s arrest. In the footage, as the detained woman is being escorted by two police officers, Dgebuadze is following behind, hurling insults at her.

“Women’s Response to the Abuser” | Last night, activists threw eggs at the house of Giorgi Shinjikashvili’s father.
For context, on Monday, TV Pirveli reported that their film crew was attacked by Giorgi Shinjikashvili’s father. As a result, journalist Mariam Makasarashvili required emergency medical assistance.
