Rally in front of the Public Broadcaster in support of Mzia Amaghlobeli

In front of the Public Broadcaster, a solidarity rally for Mzia Amaghlobeli — founder of Batumelebi and Netgazeti — began today at 8 PM. A very wide range of journalists is represented here; many colleagues have gathered to defend Mzia Amaghlobeli’s rights and to express their support for her.
They are currently requesting airtime. They want to go on air on the Public Broadcaster to share their views and express solidarity with her — especially since, as far as I know, people, including those in detention, have access to watch the Public Broadcaster.
What I’m saying right now is truly heartbreaking, and I can’t believe I’m saying it about Mzia. This person, in my opinion, has had her detention unfairly extended — she will have to remain in custody until March 4, which is an extremely harsh decision. We believe that maximum support must be shown in her case, so that no one is ever punished so severely and unjustly, as has happened with Mzia.
Until there is justice, there will be no peace.
საზოგადოებრივი მაუწყებლის წინ, დღეს რვა საათზე დაიწყო მზია ამაღლობელის – ბათუმელებისა და ნეტგაზეთის დამფუძნებლის სოლიდარობის აქცია… წარმოდგენილია ძალიან ფართო სპექტრი ჟურნალისტების, ძალიან ბევრი კოლეგა არის მოსული აქ იმისთვის, რომ დავიცვათ მზია ამაღლობელის უფლებები და მის მხარდასაჭერად გამოვხატოთ… აი ეთერს ითხოვენ ეხლა. უნდათ რომ შევიდნენ საზოგადოებრივი მაუწყებლის ეთერში და გამოხატონ თავიანთი მოსაზრებები და გამოხატონ მის მიმართ მხარდაჭერა. მითუმეტეს, რომ მე რამდენადაც ვიცი საზოგადოებრივი მაუწყებელის ყურების საშალება აქვთ ადამიანებს, მათ შორის საპატიმროშიც… ძალიან გულსაკლავია ეხლა რასაც ვამბობ და ვერ წარმომიდგენია, რომ მზიაზე ვლაპარაკობ… ეს ადამიანი დღეს, ამ წუთას, ჩემი აზრით აბსოლუტურად უსამართლოდ მას გაუხანგრძლივდა პატიმრობის ვადა და ორი თვე, მარტის თვის 4 რიცხვამდე მას მოუწევს ასევე საპატიმროში ყოფნა… რაც იყო ძალიან მძიმე გადაწყვეტილება მასთან დაკავშირებით და რავიცი, ჩვენ ვთვლით რომ მაქსიმალური მხარდაჭერა უნდა იყოს გამოხატული მის მიმართ, რომ არავინ არასდროს არ დაისაჯოს ისე მწარედ, როგორც ეს მზიას შემთხვევაში მოხდა. და უსამართლოდ, მე ასე ვიტყოდი. და ზოგადად სანამ არ იქნება სამართლიანობა, სიმშვიდე არ იქნება…
