The Ministry of Internal Affairs fined Elina Valtonen, Chair of the OSCE and Finland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, 5,000 GEL for “blocking the road.” The Ministry confirmed the information to Formula News.

Valtonen was in Georgia on an official visit. On October 14, she went to Rustaveli Avenue, where she met with protesters. On October 15, the Georgian Dream government announced that a meeting between Kobakhidze and Valtonen in Georgia had been cancelled “due to her participation in an unlawful protest.”

It later emerged that the meeting had in fact been cancelled by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs itself.
