The fact that the regime is illegally wiretapping us is not new. This is confirmed by the materials leaked from the State Security Service (SSS) a few years ago. These included transcripts of our conversations and those of our colleagues, as well as our conversations with our respondents. The Tbilisi Prosecutor’s Office recognized us as victims, but no action was taken against the individuals who were identified in those materials as agents. In some cases, we even knew their mobile phone numbers. We were able to track down several of them ourselves, yet the Prosecutor’s Office ultimately did nothing to fully investigate the case. All they did was grant us the status of ‘victims,’ but that is not enough. The fact that the regime continues to wiretap us illegally has also been confirmed by our own experiment. And it’s not just journalists they’re listening to — they are also listening to politicians, judicial activists, and essentially anyone who is considered unacceptable to Georgian Dream and this regime.
