I was reading Greek myths — stories of women, of tortured queens — and I was painting them…
Then I came across Aza’s picture, read her story, and realized that these heroic women are right beside us.
Later I saw a photo of Eto and Aza together — their endurance, dedication, patience — how they stood by each other with such care.
Before I dedicated this small sketch, I heard the desperate voice of Mate Devadze’s sister in my head. I don’t know if I would have had the courage to do the same.

And there are so many more women one could name — women who live among us, coexist with us, and light our path, or tear the thorns from it.
We don’t sing their praises or write ballads about them, but they truly make us reflect on our own being — on our values and inner truth — they make us hear the voice of our own conscience.
